When should I install my newborn's car seat?

The impeding birth of your new baby can be exciting (or maybe nerve-racking). Whilst waiting many of us starting planning - or not. So in the lead up to the birth you need to get a car seat fitted but when is the best time to put the seat in.

In most cases, we would recommend that you install a car seat no more than 2 weeks before your due date.

Why? Keep in mind that a rearward facing seat will push whatever seat it is behind forward, reducing much needed space often required by the expecting mum and her growing belly.

If a baby comes early, you have plenty of time to get a car seat fitted. Baby Things is open and fitting 7 days a week. We will always make time for the unexpected and urgent fitting - so there is no need to panic.
