Baby Things Refunds and Exchange Policy
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By purchasing from Baby Things, you accept these terms. Your rights as a consumer are very important to us. To understand you rights please see the ACCC’s website: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees
Returns are accepted only for products that you have purchased from Baby Things Zetland, either in store or through the Baby Things Zetland web store and that fit the consumer rights guarantees. We cannot accept products, even from brands that we stock, that were purchased from another store. Please take these products to the place of purchase for a refund. Similarly, we cannot accept a request for refund or replacement if the product has already been sent to the manufacturer or if it has been lost or stolen.
Important: To avoid disappointment – please contact us with a request before sending a product for exchange or warranty claim. We may not accept the product and you will have to pay for the return shipping if we do not.
Exchanges:
Please use common courtesy if you intend to exchange an item. Ask yourself: “would I buy this product if someone else returned it in this condition?”
We will accept an exchange of a product if you purchased the wrong size, type or colour, for exchange of the correct size, type or colour of the identical product if:
- You purchased the product from us and hold a valid proof of purchase
- The product has not been used
- The product still has all its original tags intact and attached, if boxed, the product is in its original box and the box is not damaged.
- The product is clean, has no odours or pet hairs or human hairs
- The product has not been cleaned by you (ie: if you dry cleaned it, or wash it yourself we will not accept an exchange)
- No more than 30 days have passed from the product purchase as shown on the proof of purchase.
Additionally, Baby Things cannot exchange a wrong sized, type or colour for a product when:
- The product or variant has been discontinued and no stock is available at Baby Things or the distributor (this includes colour, shape, model or variant)
- The product variant you want to exchange it for is discontinued, or no stock is available at Baby Things or the distributor
Baby Things won’t accept returns or refunds if:
- You have used the product
- You changed your mind
- You found it cheaper somewhere else
- You decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it
- You misused the product (intentionally or unintentionally) in any way that caused a malfunction or problem
- You knew of or were made aware of a fault before you bought the product (example: a “seconds” product with a scratch or a discontinued product)
- You asked for a service to be done in a certain way against Baby Things advice or were unclear about what you wanted
I received the wrong colour/size/variant!
If the receipt of purchase states that you purchased a specific colour, size or variant; But, due to a fault of Baby Things or the manufacturer/distributor, you received the wrong colour, size or variant (example the box states “blue” but you open it and inside is the "pink" variant of the item), then Baby Things will exchange the product for the correct colour, size or variant that you were expecting to receive or refund you after you return the product.
Several types of products cannot be returned. These are:
- Perishable goods such as food including opened food products
- Magazines, newspapers
- Intimate products or sanitary goods
- Hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases
Returns and refunds:
Refunds are only given for products that are faulty and inside the manufacturer's Warranty period where Baby Things has not been able to or cannot repair or replace the product for you while still within its warranty period.
Additionally, if you do not want a replacement if you received the wrong type, variant or colour through fault of Baby Things or the Manufacturer/Distributor (example: the product box is labelled “blue” but inside is a pink item etc) then Baby Things will give you the option of refunding you the item after you have returned it.
Handling time:
Baby Things may require some time to inspect and/or repair a product.
For repairs, please understand that Baby Things does not repair anything in house, rather, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer’s repair process.
Warranty Items:
You must hold a valid proof of purchase from Baby Things and be inside the valid manufacturer’s warranty period for a warranty claim.
If a product is faulty or has a fault inside the manufacturer’s warranty period, Baby Things will attempt to send it for repair (if applicable) or replace the faulty item. If the item cannot be repaired or replaced, then we will give you a refund.
You accept that it is at Baby Things discretion as to whether a product will be repaired or replaced.
Out of Warranty Items:
If a product is out of warranty Baby Things cannot carry out a warranty repair or replace on the item, neither will you be eligible for a refund. However, we could attempt to send the product for repair (if applicable or possible) at a non-refundable fee payable up front for parts and labour. We may also refer you to the manufacturer if you prefer to deal with them directly.
Note that a product may be deemed un-repairable by the manufacturer, even if you have paid a fee to us and/or the manufacturer.
Returns Procedure for Warranty Items:
Please check the above information as to whether you are eligible for a return. If you are, please contact us to organise a return within 30 days of purchasing the product. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your return and the shipping address.
If you are approved and the item is deemed un-repairable, a credit will be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days (dependent on your banking institution).
Shipping fees for returns, refunds and warranty items:
For wrong size, colour, variant return items:
You are responsible for all shipping costs for size, colour and variant exchanges. Baby Things reserves the right to request further payment to cover shipping if required. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
For warranty issues:
Baby Things will pay for the cost of return shipping to a reasonable amount.
Late or missing refunds:
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us via our website.
